Cerwin-Vega CV-5000 Professional Power Amplifier

The Cerwin-Vega CV-5000 Professional Power Amplifier is designed for live sound reinforcement applications. The 3RU Class H amplifier is optimized to match Cerwin-Vega’s largest and loudest folded horns and speakers, including the TS-42 Folded Horn Sub. The unit is rated 1100W per channel at 8Ω, 1800W per channel at 4Ω, 2500W per channel at 2Ω, 3600W in bridge mono mode at 8Ω and 5000W in bridge mono mode at 4Ω. It has a frequency response of 5 to 50,000 Hz and a signal to noise ratio of < -100 dB from 20 to 20,000 Hz.
For cooling, the amplifier uses a high-efficiency variable-speed fan tunnel cooling system and includes an LED monitoring system to indicate when the signal is active, at -20 dB, at -10 dB, at 0 dB, is clipping, or triggering the protection circuit. For protection the unit features short circuit, thermal, current limit, DC offset, current inrush, RF protection, turn on, turn off, and mute functions.
The front panel includes a 21-detent potentiometer for each channel. The back panel includes a switch for selecting parallel, stereo, or bridged mono mode as well as a high pass filter switch on each channel and a limiter switch on each channel. For I/O, the back panel includes electronically balanced 1/4″ and XLR combo jacks with input link jacks for connecting to other amplifiers. For outputs the unit features both 5-way binding posts and Speakon connectors.
