The BIGFOOT offers four selectable polar patterns. Use Omnidirectional if you want to capture multiple people speaking around the mic, or Bidirectional if you want to record two people while tamping down ambient room noise. Cardioid is great for desktop setups—it focuses audio capture on what’s in front of the mic, while damping down pickup on the back and sides, thus securing the most natural room-tone suppression you can get without extraneous software or room treatment.
